COLUMBIA, MD--(Marketwired - Jul 20, 2016) - Darren Wray, CEO of London-based IT consulting firm Fifth Step, has been chosen as the keynote speaker at "Secure Bermuda 2016," a premier one-day conference focused exclusively on cybersecurity intelligence.
Wray has over 25 years of experience in IT leadership and managing IT for corporations of all sizes, across a number of industry sectors. He has a long history with cybersecurity that includes developing tools and cyber tracking methods, and he was instrumental in the recovery of an Enigma machine stolen from Bletchley Park in England (made more famous recently by the movie, The Imitation Game). Fifth Step has an office in Bermuda, and Wray is a frequent host and speaker at IT security events on the island.
"I am honored to be chosen as the keynote," Wray said. "Cybersecurity risks are constantly rising, and Bermuda is not immune. This event will be a great opportunity to bring the IT security leaders of Bermuda together to have an important conversation about how we can work together to mitigate those risks."
The event, sponsored by EventTracker, a leading provider of remote managed SIEM solutions, will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at the Hamilton Princess and Beach Club.
Along with Wray, other industry leaders will address today's cybersecurity trends and threats, as well as those of the future, equipping delegates with the tools needed to combat threats and build trust. Attendees can earn up to six (ISC)² CPE credits. Please refer to your CPE guidelines to determine and submit eligible credits.
The event includes sessions and panel discussion on the following topics:
- Session 1: Cybersecurity in Healthcare, Banking and Finance, Education and Retail: The State of Security Under Constant Attack
- Lloyd Holder, Vice President at IT Services at Bermuda Hospitals Board
- Colin van den Bosch, SVP, Head of Information Technology at Clarien Bank Limited

"Cybersecurity is a global concern. It affects all interconnected economies. While technology has evolved to meet the threat, the attackers have been evolving as well, and the arms race continues to escalate. The weak link is the scarcity of security analysts to leverage increasingly sophisticated defensive tools. Remote managed security services are an effective and economical approach to addressing this skills shortage," said A.N. Ananth, CEO, EventTracker. "We'd like to thank the Government of Bermuda and the industry speakers for their participation and keen insights."
