ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - July 25, 2016) - Aegex Technologies LLC was cited by Gartner Research as a sample vendor of mobility solutions for the oil and gas industry in a report released July 21, 2016.
The report, "Hype Cycle for Upstream Oil and Gas Technologies, 2016," analyzed new digital technologies that are being used to improve business performance and included a section by Gartner analyst Rich McAvey on solutions for mobility in oil and gas.
Aegex Technologies was cited along with Baker Hughes, ChaiOne, DSI, GE, Honeywell, IBM (Maximo), Siemens, Transpara and @hand as sample vendors in the mobility space in oil and gas.
In the report, McAvey defined mobility for oil and gas as encompassing the "applications, device and connectivity necessary to access and capture information in the field, regardless of location." He noted, "more advanced capabilities include the use of sensors, location and analytics to create new applications that are not possible without mobile technologies."
