SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - August 17, 2016) - Fiverr, the marketplace that enables freelancers and entrepreneurs to start doing, growing and succeeding, today announced the opening of its San Francisco office and the hiring of two top-level executives to expand the company's online and offline community organization. The announcement highlights the company's focus on building a community-driven superbrand following a year of substantial gains, including triple digit revenue growth and marketplace expansion.
"Fiverr celebrates entrepreneurial spirit, and San Francisco's innovative environment makes perfect sense as the home for our newest office," said Fiverr CEO Micha Kaufman. "Our community is a major driver for Fiverr's success, and bringing in new community-focused leadership only strengthens our ties to the entrepreneurs and freelancers who rely on Fiverr."
As part of the San Francisco team, Fiverr has brought aboard Brent Messenger to serve as global head of community. Messenger previously worked as a battleground state field director for Obama for America in 2008, widely recognized as the most forward-thinking, community-focused campaign in history. He then joined other Obama campaign leaders at community engagement consultancy 270 Strategies, where he worked as senior vice president with such brands as Airbnb, Lyft and SolarCity. Messenger brings to Fiverr a deep understanding of grassroots community engagement.
"Fiverr is fundamentally a community-driven company and I am excited to work closely with Micha and the team to make our connections to our community more tangible," said Messenger. "We have an opportunity to expand Fiverr's presence in our users' lives into something that exists on and offline."
Working alongside Messenger, Chris Lane has joined Fiverr as global head of digital. In his role, Lane will be leading Fiverr's digital brand presence and community engagement through the marketplace, owned and third-party digital channels. Lane has previously worked with brands including Adobe, Google and The New York Times, joining Fiverr from Method Communications where he was a vice president of integrated marketing.
The San Francisco office is Fiverr's fifth global office, expanding on a footprint that already includes offices in New York, Chicago, Miami and Tel Aviv.
