Candee Chambers Recipient of 2016 JAG Lifetime Achievement Award

DirectEmployers VP of Compliance and Partnerships, Candee Chambers, will be presented with the John A. Garza Lifetime Achievement Award at the 41st Annual AZilg Conference this November in Phoenix

INDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 15, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Arizona Industry Liaison Group (AZilg)–one of the oldest Industry Liaison Groups in the United States–has announced Candee Chambers to be the recipient of the 2016 John A. Garza Lifetime Achievement Award. The award, sponsored by the AZilg, acknowledges significant past and present equal employment opportunity/affirmative action and diversity accomplishments and continuing contributions by an exceptional human resources practitioner. Industry Liaison Groups are voluntary partnerships between corporate affirmative action and EEO practitioners with local and national federal Civil Rights agencies to foster greater cooperation and understanding in the joint pursuit of increasing diversity and non-discrimination among government contractors and employers across the United States.

"Candee is one of the country's leading EEO and affirmative action practitioners and trainers. Candee now follows in the footprints of some of the earlier JAG Award recipients who are giants in the affirmative action and EEO field. The Arizona ILG's award recognizes that one person, even from a small town in Ohio, can impact and positively influence the rest of us nationwide," commented John C. Fox, Partner at Fox, Wang Morgan, P.C.

With over 30 years of experience as both a practitioner and consultant, Candee Chambers has a unique working knowledge of both the complex regulatory world of Government contractors and the deep compliance experience needed to provide expert guidance to fellow EEO, affirmative action and recruiter practitioners. In her role as Vice President of Compliance and Partnerships, Candee has built unprecedented relationships with the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) and further substantiated DirectEmployers OFCCP compliance solution by leading the consultative and education component DirectEmployers offers to its Members. As part of her role at DirectEmployers, Candee frequently trains Government contractor compliance personnel on the many federally-mandated compliance obligations, including recruitment techniques to enhance required "positive outreach and recruitment" of minorities, women, individuals with disabilities and protected veterans. Candee is also a faculty member of the National Employment Law Institute's (NELI) four one-day Affirmative Action Workshops and follow-on two-day Affirmative Action Briefings held every October across the United States.

"I feel quite honored to be the recipient of this year's award! John Garza has made amazing contributions to the compliance community over the years and I feel very humbled to have won this lifetime achievement award," commented DirectEmployers VP of Compliance and Partnerships, Candee Chambers. "I consider myself very fortunate to wake-up and go to a job I love."
