NEW YORK, Sept. 28, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- TAP Portugal’s Stopover program allows U.S travelers to Europe to include a visit to Portugal on the way for no additional airfare. TAP serves 45 European destinations from the US, via Lisbon, at fares starting from just $499 roundtrip.
Travelers can stay up to three nights on their stopover in Lisbon and even add a free domestic flight to Porto also.
TAP serves Lisbon with daily flights from New York’s JFK, Newark, Boston and Miami, as well as nonstop to Porto twice weekly from Newark. The Stopover program is available on all flights and all routes.

TAP has several airfare sales on currently which all include up to three days stopover in Lisbon and/or Porto at no extra cost.
For travel between November 1 and December 14, travelers may couple a visit to Portugal with their trip to Paris or London, from $499 or $508 roundtrip, respectively. This fare is for sale through September 30.
Travel to Spain between November 1 to December 14 and between January 8 and April 6, can include Lisbon and Porto on the way, from $640 roundtrip. TAP serves nine cities in Spain: A Coruña, Astúrias, Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid, Málaga, Seville, Valencia, and Vigo. TAP’s other European destinations are on sale with the Stopover also from just $680 roundtrip. These fares must be purchased by November 30.
For Christmas holiday travel, travelers may purchase airfare to one of TAP’s European destinations and see Lisbon and Porto on the way, starting from $693 roundtrip. Fares must be purchased by October 17, for travel between December 15 through April 16, 2017.
The Stopover booking option is available on the flight search mode in the www.flytap.com site and TAP also has launched an innovative app, available from the Apple Store or Google Play, providing Stopover passengers with a virtual ID card to be presented to the different partners in order to get benefits.
The app is also a tool to provide customer assistance, operating as a travel guide and allowing customers to share their experiences on social networks, encouraging their friends and family to visit Portugal. In addition to great fares, TAP’s Stopover program includes hotel discounts and other added benefits such as free wine.
TAP has established a network with over 150 partners, who will ensure exclusive prices for Stopover customers in hotels, a free bottle of Portuguese wine in restaurants and free experiences, such as tuk-tuk rides, visits to museums, dolphin watching in the River Sado and food tastings.
