AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 05, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --
Hostway Services (www.hostway.com), a leader in managed cloud infrastructure and application hosting solutions, has named Emil Sayegh as CEO and president. He will also serve on its Board of Directors. Sayegh succeeds Robert Boles, who will take on an external advisory role to facilitate the transition.
“I am excited and honored to be joining Hostway, and partnering both with investment firm, Littlejohn, and the Hostway team to take the company to the next level in serving its global footprint of 500,000 customers. As one of the world’s largest cloud hosting and Infrastructure-as-a-Service providers and one of the most respected brands in hosting, Hostway has a tremendous future ahead of it,” said Sayegh. “I am passionate about the cloud and hosting industry and enabling the success of our business customers worldwide. At a critical time when our industry is on the cusp of further disruption, I am very confident in our ability to execute on our strategy and win. It’s an honor to lead this company into greatness.”
Sayegh previously led and expanded successful cloud computing and hosting businesses for Codero, HP (NYSE: HPQ) and Rackspace Inc. (NYSE: RAX). At Codero, he was chairman of the board, CEO, and president for the last five years and led the company through rapid growth and operational excellence culminating in the sale of the company to a consortium of 32 telecommunication providers. At HP, he was the vice president of Cloud Services and led the company’s entry into the public cloud by leveraging HP technology and OpenStack, the open source cloud computing operating system. Prior to HP, Sayegh was the vice president and general manager of the Cloud Computing Division at Rackspace. During his tenure there, he led Rackspace’s entry into the emerging public cloud market and rapidly grew the business to more than 100,000 clients. He also spent more than 15 years in the IT industry in marketing, product management, and product development leadership roles at Dell Inc., RLX Technologies (acquired by HP), and Compaq (acquired by HP).
“Emil is a high-energy, customer-focused leader with an impressive track record of success in the hosting and cloud computing industry. After a thorough CEO search, we are very pleased to welcome him to the Hostway team knowing that he will successfully implement strategies to accelerate customer and revenue growth,” said Michael Kaplan, chairman of Hostway’s board of directors and partner with private equity firm Littlejohn & Co., Hostway’s principal investor. “We are also appreciative of his predecessor, Robert Boles, who came into Hostway at a critical time and has helped position the company for future success.”
