ATLANTA, Nov. 09, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq:AEIS), the world leader in precision power conversion, introduced today its Onyx™ series of pyrometers, a significant step forward in optical temperature measurement for industrial applications. With high accuracy, repeatability and reliability, the versatile new series is ideally suited for a wide variety of industrial materials, such as steel, non-ferrous metals, graphites, silicon carbon (SiC), carbon fiber and ceramics during critical thermal processing. Advanced Energy® (AE®), an Encompass™ product partner in the Rockwell Automation® PartnerNetwork™, will provide a demonstration of its Onyx series, as well as its Thyro-Family SCR power controllers, at the annual Automation Fair event presented by Rockwell Automation in Atlanta, November 9-10.
Using the same design principles established over 20 years in pyrometry and optical temperature measurement in some of the world's most demanding applications, the Onyx series meets the requirements of Rockwell Automation and offers four industrial models:
- Onyx™-S single-channel optical temperature pyrometer
- Onyx™-S2C two-color ratio optical temperature pyrometer
- Onyx™-MC multi-channel optical temperature pyrometer
- Onyx™-MCE multi-channel optical temperature pyrometer with active emissivity compensation
“The new Onyx technology delivers precise thermal profiles for advanced thermal processing and control,” said Yuval Wasserman, president and CEO of Advanced Energy. “Our pyrometers, well-known for high performance in the semiconductor industry, now serve industrial customers who can leverage the advantages of our long-standing success in optical temperature measurement with this robust line built specifically for today’s industrial applications.”
In addition to pyrometers, Advanced Energy’s thermal portfolio includes digital SCR power control modules for electrical heating applications, including the newly engineered Thyro-PX™ SCR power controller, available in 230 V to 690 V options, single-phase and three-phase. Many of AE’s SCR power controllers come with an add-on profile (AOP) that simplifies communication configuration and network connection.
Advanced Energy will highlight its technologies for thermal processing at the Automation Fair event at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, November 9-10. AE experts will be available at the company's booth (#1325) to demonstrate these products and discuss how the company continues to innovate, developing and integrating the latest in automation technologies.
In addition to its technology showcase in the exhibition hall, the company is pleased to participate in the following technology forum:
