Visionary Integration Professionals and Fast Enterprises Implement Modernized System for Washington State

RESTON, VA--(Marketwired - November 15, 2016) - Visionary Integration Professionals (VIP), a leading provider of technology solutions that drive enterprise performance, has announced the successful completion of a system modernization project for Washington State Department of Licensing (DOL), the agency charged with administering over $1.5 billion of the state's annual fuel tax revenue.

The project, a collaborative endeavor between prime-contractor VIP, government software and services provider Fast Enterprises (FAST), and Washington DOL, provides the state agency with a fully integrated and modern web-based system based on FAST's GenTax^® integrated tax software.

Washington DOL's Prorate and Fuel Tax program provides services related to the state's administration of fuel tax and commercial motor carriers, including fuel tax collection, compliance, audits, and refunds; investigation of illegal fuel imports and dyed diesel; and one-stop vehicle licensing and fuel tax filing services for Washington-based interstate motor carriers.

VIP and FAST worked with DOL to configure FAST's commercial off-the-shelf GenTax^® software to meet the state's distinct business and technical requirements. The project replaced multiple legacy systems and applications with a single, integrated solution that provides DOL with a number of new capabilities, streamlined processes, and organizational efficiencies. It also provides integrated support for federal, state, and local laws associated with carrier registrations and the collection of fuel taxes, as well as interfaces with external federal and state systems.
