BEDMINSTER, NJ--(Marketwired - December 05, 2016) - The Investment Center, Inc., an independent broker-dealer, held its first conference exclusively for its female advisors, in Chicago on November 14th - 16th. The 'Educate and Rejuvenate' conference saw women from across the country fly in for the event.
Nicola Sutton, Director of Marketing explained:

The inaugural Women Advisors Group conference was a phenomenal success in this respect; giving the attendees the opportunity to connect with fellow female advisors, and share thoughts and ideas on everything from practice management to work-life balance."
The Investment Center, Inc. announced the establishment of the Women Advisors Group (WAG) at its National Education Conference in April, with a mission to foster an environment of support and success for its female advisors.
Ms. Sutton continued:
"The Educate and Rejuvenate conference was designed to help meet the goals of WAG, which includes understanding how The Investment Center can support the business needs of our female advisors, providing mentorship for younger or less-experienced female advisors, and creating networking opportunities."
The conference opened with a cocktail and dinner reception, allowing the women to get to know each other before the education sessions the following day. These interactive sessions included presentations by James Mackiewicz, Practice Management Consultant at AssetMark, and Cheryl Tuosto, VP of Financial Solutions at Pershing LLC. Both provided valuable insights on business development. A focus-group held by Sarah Newcomb, Behavioral Economist at Morningstar, encouraged a lively discussion about counseling clients on emotionally-based financial problems. The rejuvenation part of the conference followed in the late afternoon with a trip to a spa.
The final day of the conference was spent together at SourceMedia's Women Advisers Forum, an event targeted to all female advisors in the industry.
A calendar of future WAG specific events will include regular meetings, breakout sessions at conferences, and group discounts to relevant industry events.
