BinckBank introduces Binck Laten Beleggen in Belgium

Personal discretionary asset management service focusing on a combination of preservation and growth of money

Amsterdam, 22 December 2016 - BinckBank N.V. has introduced its new Binck Laten Beleggen service in Belgium today. This online personal discretionary asset management proposition aims at a combination of risk protection and return on investments and is available for portfolios from € 25.000. Binck Laten Beleggen meets customer requirements because of a personal investment plan,  asymmetric risk model, low minimum initial investment  and  transparent pricing structure.

Vincent Germyns, CEO BinckBank
"In the current climate of continued historically low interest rates we see an increasing need amongst customers for online investing with a minimum initial investment and to outsource this service to an asset management expert. The asymmetric approach is reassuring for customers. If applicable, they would be prepared to give up a part of the upward potential in exchange for a better protection against a possible downward risk. This tailor-made innovative online service of Binck will assist retail investors in achieving their personal longer-term financial investment goals. For this reason, Binck Laten Beleggen fits well in our growth strategy to expand our services in the area of private wealth management with discretionary asset management and savings services in addition to execution only."

Personal investment plan
Via an online questionnaire Binck maps the customer's financial situation, risk appetite, expectations and knowledge. This results in a personal investment plan which is tailor-made for each customer. The entrusted assets will be divided over a fund of shares and a fund of bonds.

Each customer investment plan is tailored to a pre-determined individually financial risk. This will effectively determine which amount is available to invest in the fund of shares. For the daily monitoring of the asset mix in a fund of shares and a fund of bonds, which both invest in ETF's, Binck Laten Beleggen uses an automated investing management model which aims to limit the impact of downward movements in the stock market to the predetermined maximum. In upward moving stock markets Binck enables a high participation in the fund of shares so that the customer's portfolio may benefit of the generally higher returns on equity, while reducing exposure to equities in a downward market sentiment to limit the loss (asymmetrical risk model).

Low minimum initial investment and transparent pricing structure
In addition to a personal investment plan, customers receive 24/7 online access to their portfolio. The annual management fee is 0,60% for assets from € 25,000. With these features Binck Laten Beleggen is well positioned to compete against traditional banks which dominate the Belgium market. Total Assets under Management in Belgium are between € 250 and € 300 billion.
