“Today, drivers such as rising costs, reform and demand for services continue to lead healthcare to be synonymous with change,” said Mr. Potts. “As such, anesthesia groups must embrace these changes and find ways to maintain their own competitive advantage in an increasingly competitive market.”
Mr. Potts will be presenting to healthcare professionals including anesthesiologists, CRNAs, practice administrators, billing managers and professional coders on the topic, “Maintaining Viability in the Anesthesia Marketplace: Today and Beyond” during a breakout session on April 29 at 1:10 pm. The presentation will identify current and future trends in the anesthesia marketplace with emphasis on changing old habits of practice management, implementing alternative anesthesia delivery models and adding value to a practice’s anesthesia service offerings.
John Potts, CRNA, MS oversees the CRNA workforce for NAPA. Mr. Potts is involved in many business development initiatives, implementation of new staffing strategies and also remains clinically active. Prior to joining NAPA, he worked for a large CRNA-owned group in Michigan, where he was responsible for the development and operations of the group’s small and rural hospital division. John received his BSN in 1995 from the University of Detroit Mercy (UDM). He returned to UDM in 1997 and, through an affiliation with Henry Ford Hospital, completed his CRNA training in 1999. He has extensive experience in cardiac anesthesia, anesthesia for bariatric procedures and ambulatory anesthesia. He is a member of both the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and Michigan Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
The 2017 Advanced Institute for Anesthesia Practice Management is the only anesthesia conference in the marketplace that focuses on practice management issues with the goal of enlightening attendees on broader group strategy issues, including numerous talks on billing, coding and compliance.
