CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA--(Marketwired - July 19, 2017) - Innovative ECMO Concepts has selected Scitent, Inc., a full-service eLearning company dedicated to the growth of an organization's eLearning business, to develop the healthcare industry's first on-demand, eLearning extracorporeal life support (ECLS) course.
To-date, healthcare professionals serving on a hospital's Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) team relied on in-person training that could last up to four days to learn how to operate an ECMO machine. Innovative ECMO Concepts believes that online learning, coupled with an in-person skills session (blended learning), is an optimal way to train busy physicians, perfusionists and advanced nurse specialists.
"Scitent was the right partner for this innovative eLearning endeavor since the company has extensive healthcare and blended learning experience, coupled with the know-how to enable us to grow our eLearning business," said Thomas Preston, RRT, CCP, CCT, FPP and founder of IEC.
Scitent will develop Innovative ECMO Concepts' online courses, provide its PROPEL™ Extended Enterprise Distribution technology, learning management system (LMS) and deliver critical business support services, including sales, marketing, call center, financial services and reporting and project management. Scitent's sales team is focused on helping Innovative ECMO Concepts build its business with hospital and healthcare systems both domestically and globally via partners, resellers and distribution networks.
"We're thrilled that Innovative ECMO Concepts selected Scitent as a partner for their pioneering course offering," said Deb McMahon, Scitent's president and CEO, PhD. "This will be a game-changer for ECMO teams and shows the real promise of online learning -- using on-demand learning to more efficiently convey and deeply understand complex learning topics."
