MGAC to Deliver Project Management and Technology Solutions for 94,000 SF Data Center to Support George Institute of Technology’s Super Computing Needs

Next Tier / Databank’s Atlanta data center to serve as a High-Performance Computing Center (HPCC) for southeast region

WASHINGTON, D.C., Aug. 07, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MGAC, an international project management and owner’s representation firm, announced today it is teaming with Next Tier HD to deliver DataBank’s ATL1 data center, part of Portman Holding’s CODA development, a 645,000 SQ FT mixed-use complex currently under construction.

MGAC will bring project management and telecommunications design services to the data center project, which will serve as the High-Performance Computing Center (“HPCC”) for the Georgia Institute of Technology. The new HPCC and office building are being developed on Georgia Tech’s “Technology Square” as the latest investment to create public-private collaboration and combine the volume of research data with onsite researchers to generate innovation and solutions to today’s challenges.

The HPCC is designed to deliver power densities up to 45kW per cabinet to support the high compute needs and connectivity to research and education sites throughout the southeast and across the nation. The HPCC’s innovative design utilizes high temperature chilled water loop and chilled door technology to maximize efficiency while maintaining super high densities across the data center floor.

“MGAC is proud to partner with Next Tier to deliver this cutting-edge project for Databank and Georgia Tech as a premier academic and research institution. As a regional technology center, the project’s Atlanta location strengthens MGAC’s ability to provide best-in-class services throughout the country,” said Mark Anderson, President of MGAC.
