JMHS, an online high school, offers 40 online courses that meet NCAA eligibility requirements for student-athletes

NORCROSS, GA--(Marketwired - Aug 29, 2017) - James Madison High School (JMHS) -- a leading online high school based in Norcross, Georgia now offers 40 online courses for student-athletes that meet National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I and II eligibility requirements, ensuring student-athletes will be academically eligible to practice, play and compete at a college level. The NCAA-approved courses include English, Algebra, History, Spanish and various natural and physical sciences.

The flexibility provided by JMHS, coupled with extensive support services and personal academic guidance, arms student-athletes with the tools needed for success on and off the field. With self-paced courses taken completely online, James Madison allows students to create a customized study routine and curriculum that meets NCAA eligibility requirements for student-athletes. With no fixed schedule, it's easier for student-athletes to manage rigorous training and athletic travel schedules around schooling.

"Having NCAA-approved online courses as part of our core educational offerings ensures that each and every one of our distance-learners has what they need to succeed and pursue their dreams," said Megan Bowen, James Madison High School principal. "At James Madison High School, we're committed to delivering the best personalized learning experience possible and ensuring every student is well-prepared for college."

Alexander Free attended James Madison High School in order to pursue his dream of becoming a Division I tennis star. Free said his decision to attend JMHS was one of the best he's ever made, as it taught him to think outside the box and develop interests that many traditional students are unable able to pursue. "Instead of sitting at a desk, most of my school work was done between tennis matches in a variety of hotel rooms around the country. What I lacked in traditional experiences, I made up for by visiting over 30 states in four years," he said.

Participating in college sports provides opportunities for students to learn, compete and succeed, including learning important skills such as leadership, time management and how to work with others toward a common goal.
