Linkage, Inc. Returns as a Community Partner to the 2017 TechWomen Program

Will provide emerging women leaders with the tools to create an impactful action plan for their communities

BURLINGTON, Mass., Sept. 19, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Linkage, Inc., a provider of leadership development insights, education and strategic direction for organizations across the globe, today announced that it has been invited to facilitate a workshop for the 100 women leaders participating in TechWomen, an initiative of the US Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. This is the third year that the company will be hosting a workshop for the initiative, helping participants brainstorm and strategize an action plan to solve real issues in their countries by using elements of Linkage’s Advancing Women and Leadership Development practices.

TechWomen is a several weeks-long intensive program that brings together women leaders in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields from twenty countries in Africa, South and Central Asia and the Middle East. It seeks to empower, connect and support these women as well as provide mentoring from STEM leaders in the US.

Linkage will also run a session for 62 Impact Coaches who will advise participants on their action plans. These coaches include women from leading Silicon Valley enterprises, including Adobe, Facebook, Fitbit, Lockheed Martin, Oracle, Tesla, Twitter and more, who are committed to advancing women leaders.

“We’re excited to work with such an inspiring group of women and be able to share our best practices to help them succeed in their careers,” said Jillian Ihsanullah, PhD, Senior Vice President of Consulting at Linkage, who will be co-facilitating the workshop with Briana Goldman, Consultant at Linkage. “Providing these women, with guidance from their Impact Coaches, the opportunity to create innovative projects to improve the quality of life and education for so many people in their home countries is part of launching them as leaders.”

“We’re hoping to further empower these emerging women leaders to not only make an impact in their communities, but across the globe,” said Jillian Scott, Lead of TechWomen at IIE, which manages TechWomen on behalf of the Department of State. “Having Linkage back for a third year to bring leadership development insights to the women leaders will provide a valuable piece of the TechWomen experience.”

This year, the program begins on September 17, in San Francisco, CA and continues until October 23, where it wraps in Washington, DC. Linkage’s workshop will take place on September 21, 2017.
