NEW YORK, Sept. 25, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- A current Anesthesiologist working Per Diem for the past 7 years, the American Health Council is appointing Dr. LaKesha Smith to their Physician Board. Dr. Smith also has fellowship training in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesiology.
Dr. Smith earned her MD from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 2002. She is Board Certified in Anesthesiology, and is also a BLS Instructor.
Day to day responsibilities for Dr. Smith consist of perioperative care for patients which includes: preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care. Dr. Smith enjoys making her patients smile throughout their perioperative care.
Dr. Smith is honored to have been garnered with the Orchid Award from the Top Ladies of Distinction in 2013 for Professional and Community Service. She earned a Bullying Grant, and 2nd place award for Delta S.I.Z.E.D. (Sorors, Invigorated, Zealous, Energized, and Determined) at the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated 2015 National Convention in Houston, Texas for total miles walked.
Professional goals within the next 5 years for Dr. Smith include continuing to mentor within her community – sharing knowledge, educating others, as well as remaining a part of the creative change process in the health field. She also looks forward to learning more about the financial aspects of healthcare.
