Ridgefield, CT, Oct. 04, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Owl Cyber Defense Solutions, LLC ("Owl"), the market leader in data diode network cybersecurity solutions, is proud to announce the company has received its official SAFETY Act Designation as a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology (QATT).
The Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies Act, also known as the “SAFETY Act”, is a program of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) intended to provide critical incentives for the development and deployment of anti-terrorism technologies.
According to the DHS, in order to receive a SAFETY Act Designation, a technology must be “designed, developed, modified, or procured for the specific purpose of preventing, detecting, identifying, or deterring acts of terrorism or limiting the harm such acts might otherwise cause,” and “demonstrate effectiveness during operational testing or through prior use.”
“As a key cybersecurity provider to our nation’s government, military, intelligence agencies, and critical infrastructure, one of Owl’s primary missions is to protect these vital institutions and organizations from cyberattacks, including cyberterrorism,” remarked Mike Timan, President & CEO of Owl. “The SAFETY Act approval is a reflection of our long-standing commitment to securing the most sensitive and crucial networks in the United States.”
With this new Designation, Owl adds to its list of certifications and approvals, including NATO Approved Products, ISO 9001:2015 Certification, Common Criteria EAL Certification, and UCDSMO Accreditation and Baseline listing, among others.
