AMHERST, N.Y., Oct. 20, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ATTO Technology, Inc., a global leader of storage, network connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments for nearly 30 years, will be highlighting the ATTO FibreBridge® and XstreamCORE™ family of Fibre Channel storage controllers in booth #S3 at NetApp Insight™ from November 13-16 at the Messe Berlin, Berlin, Germany. As a key part of the NetApp® MetroCluster™ solution, ATTO storage controllers enable disaster recovery and downtime avoidance. In addition, ATTO will also showcase its portfolio of certified connectivity solutions.
ATTO, a member of the NetApp Alliance Partner Program, will highlight its certified connectivity options for NetApp storage and data management solutions, including ATTO Celerity™ Gen 6 powered 32Gb and 16Gb host bus adapters (HBAs) and XstreamCORE Fibre Channel-to-SAS/SATA storage controllers. Also displayed will be a number of next-generation solutions, including ATTO ThunderLink® Thunderbolt™ adapters for Fibre Channel and Ethernet and XstreamCORE FC 7550 Quad port 16Gb Fibre Channel-to-12Gb SAS/SATA storage controller.
MetroCluster is the foundation upon which the ATTO and NetApp relationship is built. NetApp MetroCluster configurations allow site-to-site connectivity up to 300 kilometers apart with redundant low-latency links, commonly used for providing on-site uptime for production sites to maintain schedules. ATTO storage controllers also allow the ability to load balance between data centers while providing failover and failback functionality. The performance capabilities of storage controllers enable the integration of multiple shelves of flash storage for MetroCluster installations with a resilient back-end storage architecture.
The FibreBridge 7500N storage controller, which ships with every NetApp MetroCluster configuration, integrates SAS/SATA disk storage into a Fibre Channel SAN, increasing availability and scalability while allowing the use of NetApp FAS series storage on a shared Fibre Channel network. In the FibreBridge 7500N storage controller, a high-performance platform accelerates all reads and writes in hardware and will add Enterprise-level 16Gb Fibre Channel SAN connectivity and diagnostic, management and monitoring integration with NetApp Data ONTAP® to future MetroCluster deployments. By delivering 1.47M 4K IOPS in dual-controller configurations and less than 4 microseconds of latency, the 7500N provides unmatched $/IOPS value and the lowest access latency in the industry.
Celerity Fibre Channel HBAs are designed to cover the full performance spectrum from enterprise to workgroup, and server to workstation environments. The highly integrated family of adapters is engineered to optimize data transfer using a combination of exclusive features. ATTO Multipath Director™ allows users to manage direct connections and multiple paths to NetApp enterprise storage systems, increasing the reliability of high performance Linux®, Mac OS® X and Windows® applications, all while improving performance and protecting data through load-balancing and failover. Celerity 32Gb and 16Gb Fibre Channel quad channel HBAs, the first of their kind in the market, address the needs of Linux and Windows platforms in high performance computing, virtualization and other high-IOPS and high-bandwidth environments.
ATTO FastFrame™ NICs comprise a versatile portfolio that can be used anywhere in the datacenter infrastructure, including servers and workstations with Windows®, Linux and Mac® operating systems. The FastFrame 40GbE NIC builds upon the 10GbE offering in providing a high throughput solution for aggregation level use in data centers, for cloud deployments, and for latency-sensitive high performance applications. The industry-leading throughput and ultra-low latency provided by the 40GbE NIC are the result of RDMA (Remote Direct Memory Access) over Converged Ethernet (RoCE), a feature that uses zero copy data transfers to permit efficient data movement between servers and storage and to free up host CPUs for other tasks.
ATTO ExpressSAS® host and RAID Adapters provide high-performance data protection for application environments that depend on direct-attached storage. Using up to 70% less power than competitive adapters, they allow data centers to take advantage of limited power budgets, maximizing compute power and density. Users can also cut storage access times up to half by employing ATTO Advanced Data Streaming (ADS™) technology. ADS provides consistently high performance and the lowest response times via intelligent caching, smart reads/writes and memory optimization, providing a superior solution for enterprise applications such as server virtualization, database, business analytics and backup/archiving. Adaptive Path Optimization maximizes storage availability by eliminating single points of failure and dynamically balancing I/O and boosting performance by up to 40%. Additionally, ATTO DriveAssure™ technology manages latency and drive health, providing higher workflow up-time and continuous access to data.
