By driving more shoppers online through extended sales periods, total spending during Cyber Monday 2017 is on track to reach new heights. This Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales week is expected to be the biggest on record. Professional services firm Deloitte predicts total sales over the period to reach $700 billion.
This year a huge number of deals are available online, marking a shift away from in-store Black Friday sales and the overcrowding that often resulted. Last year over half of total spending on Black Friday was online (52%), marking a continued shift towards e-commerce for the Black Friday & Cyber Monday weekend.
Discounts this year from most retailers are running for an entire week. They started on Monday, November 20th and end shortly after Cyber Monday on November 27th.
