Objectivity's ThingSpan is Now Available on AWS Marketplace

San Jose, Calif., Nov. 28, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Objectivity, Inc., a leader in enterprise database software platforms for real-time data and sensor fusion systems, announced that its ThingSpan platform is now available on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Objectivity’s ThingSpan platform, is an enterprise data and sensor fusion platform for graph and data analytics that integrates with open source technologies such as Spark, Kafka, HDFS, YARN, etc. The initial ThingSpan version that is available on AWS Marketplace is a link hunting demonstration which has a preloaded graph of over three million telephone call detail records and associated data. While this is a very small and simple data set for ThingSpan, it demonstrates ThingSpan's ability to run powerful navigational and pathfinding queries.

ThingSpan’s distributed architecture allows users to find new intelligence within data on a very large scale and with the performance required by enterprises and governments. With ThingSpan on AWS, it is even easier for users to get started with ThingSpan and have the flexibility and scalability that is demanded today.

In a recent customer use case, Objectivity used Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) with m4x2large nodes. ThingSpan was able to load ten billion call detail records while simultaneously building the graph (connecting the data) in under two hours.

“ThingSpan demonstrates its ability to scale as the volume of data increases and AWS elasticity allows systems to scale out or back to match demand and workloads. We also showed that ThingSpan can do navigational queries up to ten degrees of separation and beyond in seconds. The customer’s existing relational database solution could not return results in a useful timespan when querying the data beyond three degrees of separation,” said Leon Guzenda, Chief Technical Marketing Officer and Founder of Objectivity.

Users can also take a look at ThingSpan's new powerful query language, DO, in this ThingSpan demonstration on AWS Marketplace. The DO query language allows data scientists to query data to discover how things are connected without writing or compiling code.

This version of ThingSpan is provided by Objectivity at no charge on AWS Marketplace and the listing can be found at: https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/B075KQ9Q63.
