BOSTON, Dec. 15, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sense, the energy intelligence platform for homeowners, today released the Sense Home Energy Monitor Web App. Building on the success of its mobile apps, the new Sense web interface provides homeowners with information and energy saving insights by displaying real-time and historical consumption, solar production, and energy costs.
Sense's web, iOS and Android apps are powered by the Sense Home Energy Monitor, a $299 high-resolution power monitor that installs inside a home’s electrical panel and measures current and power one million times per second. By analyzing this data with advanced machine learning algorithms, the Sense monitor isolates the electrical signatures of individual devices within a home, such as a microwave or garage door opener, to provide homeowners with real-time device-level monitoring. The monitor connects to the cloud via Wi-Fi so each homeowner can monitor their power use from their phone, tablet, and now any modern web browser.
“This is just the beginning,” said Chris Micali, VP of product and co-founder of Sense. “With this new web interface, we’ve opened the door to many exciting new features we’ll be developing throughout 2018 that can connect homeowners with their energy use and home activity in new ways. We now have a platform that can facilitate future functionality like data exports, while giving our customers a new way to interact with the data coming from their Sense monitor on a big screen.”
Sense monitors have been in installed across the US since 2015, and helped homeowners keep tabs on their homes, identify energy hogs, and improve their efficiency while saving thousands of dollars. 2017 has seen a number of important developments for Sense, including integrations with IFTTT and Amazon’s Alexa, availability in Canada and on Amazon.com, and a featured segment on PBS’ “Ask This Old House”.
The web app can be accessed by all Sense users at home.sense.com. To learn more about how Sense works and to get Sense for your own home, please visit sense.com.
