REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Jan. 16, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AutoGrid, the leading provider of flexibility management software for the energy industry, today announced that it has achieved Service Organization Control 2 (SOC 2) compliance status, validating its security, confidentiality and accessibility controls. The examination by an independent auditing firm provides details on the stringent SOC 2 security standards that make AutoGrid a trusted partner for utilities, electricity retailers, energy service providers and owners of large energy asset portfolios.
As part of the compliance process, the successful completion of this nearly year-long independent audit confirms AutoGrid’s ongoing commitment to upholding the highest level of security and compliance for its customers and partners, according to Amit Narayan, CEO of AutoGrid.
“As the developer of the leading platform for flexibility management on the electric grid, we place the highest priority on the security of our customer data,” Narayan said. “This rigorous certification validates how we build security into every aspect of our platform and deploy controls to allay risks and maintain the highest levels of security and availability. Our customers trust us with their valuable data, and this certification confirms their confidence, knowing a third party has reviewed and confirmed our security standards.”
Developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), SOC 2 defines criteria for managing customer data based on five trust service principles: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. The SOC guidelines provide an authoritative and independent benchmark for AutoGrid to demonstrate implementation of proper control procedures and practices.
The SOC 2 audit was conducted by Frank, Rimerman + Co. The report is available upon request under NDA.
