AUSTIN, Texas, March 15, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Art Institutes system of schools (Ai) and technology-based education start-up, Woz U, today announced a new partnership that serves as the intersection of technology and creativity in education. The partnership is being celebrated at the SXSW South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Conference & Festivals, the annual conference celebrating the convergence of the interactive, film, and music industries.
“For more than 80 years, The Art Institutes have served as an important source for design, culinary, fashion and media arts professionals,” said Claude Brown, president of the non-profit Art Institutes system of schools. “Traditionally, our programs focused on the intersection of technology and creativity. With careers combining creativity and technology growing in demand, we are excited to meet the need for qualified technology professionals with The Art Institutes’ Woz U Academy.”
The Art Institutes’ Woz U Academy is designed to change the way technology education is delivered. Through this partnership, The Art Institutes will provide Woz U’s tech-based curriculum in immersive “boot camp” formats that enable students to learn the skills required to enter a technology-based career in a short amount of time. They are launching with the software developer program at select Art Institutes schools starting in June 2018 with additional programs and locations to be rolled out later this year.
The modular curriculum model is a new, personalized approach to teaching. This format prepares students to enter high-growth, high-demand technology professions quickly by customizing their learning to the technologies in demand in their city.
“Our Education as a Service model at Woz U educates students with a personalized and accelerated learning environment to begin a career in the tech industry,” said Chris Coleman, president of Woz U. “We are excited to partner with The Art Institutes to help them deliver quality technology curriculum for their students.”
