SAN JOSE, Calif., March 20, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Veriflow today announced the company has been named a Global Operations, Orchestration, Data Analytics & Monetization (ODAM) 10 to Watch in 2018 in Stratecast/Frost & Sullivan’s March 2018 report by analysts Tim McElligott, Troy Morle and Karl Whitelock. The authors note that the “companies chosen as its 10 to Watch in 2018 are focused on meeting critical business challenges and improving technology enablement functions. These companies are included in our list because they deliver innovative solutions that help CSPs (communication services providers) transform operations, address new business needs, and help to improve the customer experience.” The global research firm highlighted Veriflow’s innovation in Intent-Based Networking (IBN) as a reason for including the company in the 11th edition of the report. The report also outlines the history of Veriflow as a math-based solution for enterprises that is funded by New Enterprise Associates (NEA), the National Science Foundation and the Department of Defense. The report’s authors say, “…the influence of Veriflow’s work in IBN, and that of others such as Cisco, will be felt across all domains of networking, including telecom.”
“As the authors of the Frost and Sullivan report state, it’s becoming clearer that digital transformation is a strong part of the modernization strategies of all industries. Veriflow’s Continuous Network Verification platform is built specifically to let enterprises, government agencies and service providers reduce downtime and improve protection in the network, thus enabling digital transformation initiatives,” said Jim Brear, CEO of Veriflow. “Our platform reduces OPEX by automating manual processes and freeing up network resources to focus on more strategic tasks, and it improves compliance by dynamically mapping, automatically documenting and auditing the network. We are honored to be recognized by Stratecast/Frost & Sullivan for our technical achievements.”
The report’s authors acknowledge that “Veriflow addresses a phenomenon long understood by nightshift NOC technicians: networks seldom break without someone sticking their fingers into them or misconfiguring them from the start. IBN works to eliminate outages and vulnerabilities in networks by predicting the future through mathematical modeling. The technology relies on the proven concept of formal verification, a methodology with principles that have been applied in other science and technology sectors such as space exploration, silicon design and aeronautics. Veriflow has brought the technology to networking and renamed it ‘continuous network verification.’”
Through its Continuous Network Verification platform, Veriflow proactively and comprehensively assures that network reality matches the business intent. Veriflowing – the process of proactively verifying every network change – within any network operations workflow increases agility while reducing provisioning times. Veriflow instills confidence before, during and after any change, update or rollout within the networking environment. The result is a dramatic improvement in network agility, design, implementation and operation, thus allowing for rigorous assurance of network resilience and protection.
According to the report’s authors, “’Veriflow’s platform answers the question of how to get visibility into network performance without using traffic data as a primary source. Veriflow instead uses patented continuous network verification algorithms to predict all possible network-wide behavior, and to mathematically verify whether this network model meets desired security and resilience policies. Veriflow continually assures that end-to-end service and security policies are correctly implemented for all possible traffic.”
The report’s writers conclude by saying, “IBN incorporates other emerging trends—or necessities—in networking. Because of the scale and complexity of next-generation networks, management, orchestration, assurance, and security all require a higher level of these necessities: automation, closed-loop operations, and intelligence. In addition, IBN will address another long-standing challenge to network operators: ensuring that the investment in networking technology and its operational performance are in line with business objectives. For these reasons and more, Veriflow will be an interesting company to watch in 2018.”
