MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, April 13, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Alectra Utilities is continuing to advise customers to prepare for the possibility of widespread power outages this weekend as the threat of a significant ice storm, with strong winds, moves closer to the Greater Golden Horseshoe Area.
Customers are being encouraged to prepare a 72-hour emergency kit in the event of a sustained power outage. Alectra is also warning customers that downed powerlines may be dangerous and to stay at least 10 metres away (the length of a school bus) and call 911 immediately should they come across this situation.

Alectra operations, customer service and communications personnel have been preparing over the last few days to respond to customer calls and repair any damages done to its distribution by this approaching weather event.
