B. Wayne Hughes, Jr. Presented with Legacy of Hope Award

Washington, D.C., April 19, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Prison Fellowship, the nation’s largest outreach to prisoners, former prisoners, and their families, and a leading advocate for criminal justice reform, has awarded the 2017 Charles Colson Legacy of Hope Award to B. Wayne Hughes, Jr. of Jackson, Wyoming.

B. Wayne Hughes, Jr. is the son of B. Wayne Hughes, Sr. who co-founded Public Storage in the 1970s. Hughes, Jr. is also an entrepreneur, a philanthropist, and a father.  Hughes, Jr. became involved with Prison Fellowship after founder Chuck Colson invited him to the Angola Penitentiary in Louisiana.

In 2013, Hughes, Jr. founded Serving California, a non-profit that facilitates healing for people who have experienced suffering, including military families, crime survivors, and prisoners looking to rebuild their lives. In 2017, Hughes, Jr. began the process of taking the ministry to other states.
