Cloud Logistics Introduces “TMS Made Easy” Along with the Latest Zero-Downtime Upgrade

Clients Benefit from Dozens of New Features over Two New Releases in 2018

West Palm Beach, Fla., May 16, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cloud Logistics, a leading innovator and provider of next-generation transportation management systems (TMS), completed the second upgrade of 2018 of its award-winning TMS. Consistent with every release since the TMS first became generally available, all customers are on the newest version and upgraded with no downtime. In parallel with the new release, Cloud Logistics announced the launch of its new brand “TMS Made Easy” - www.tmsmadeeasy.com.

“In 2012, we started Cloud Logistics with the goal of developing a world-class TMS that, on one hand, could support the needs of some of the most complex shippers and 3PLs, while at the same time could drive a viable ROI for smaller shippers,” according to Mark Nix, founder and CEO of Cloud Logistics. “We hit a major milestone in September 2015 with our first same-day TMS customer. We continued to make our system easy to use with great “tier one” features such as Carrier Assignment Optimization, a built-in social network and integration to industry benchmark data.”

TMS Made Easy is best represented by its three core values:

  • Fast: Cloud Logistics’ TMS has been recognized as having some of the fastest implementations in the industry. Multiple companies have deployed the software in a single day. Moderately complex projects can be completed in a matter of weeks.
  • Able: Simple, limited solutions are usually the only types that can be installed quickly. However, the Cloud Logistics’ TMS has more than enough capabilities and sophistication to serve multi-billion dollar retailers, manufacturers and distributors.
  • Easy: Whereas most TMS require days or weeks of classroom training, the Cloud Logistics’ system is highlighted by an intuitive, clean user interface and workflow. Most end users require no more than two hours of web-based training to become proficient and productive

Release Highlights – Manual Planner
While there have been dozens of new features added in 2018, the single largest enhancement is represented by the latest update to the Manual Planner. This map-based feature allows transportation planners to quickly and easily visualize the loads available to work with on any given day.

On the map and in a data grid, individual shipments can be combined with the system providing real-time feedback on cost implications. Users are provided immediate ROI data so they can make informed decisions about consolidation. Loads can even be tendered or put out to spot quote right from the Manual Planner.

Garner Strickland, Logistics Manager for Central Garden and Pet, commented, "One of the major reasons why we chose to partner with Cloud Logistics is their pace and quality of innovation. The new Manual Planner enhancements are a great example of the kind of investment they are making in the TMS that will help us run our transportation network more efficiently. We really enjoy seeing all of the new features added every couple of months."

Other Features
In addition to the Manual Planner, other new features of the TMS include:

  • Tags can now be applied to shipments. Both private and public tagging of shipments allow for many improved visual alerts for a wide variety of purposes (e.g., holding shipments, “hot” shipments, personal watch lists, etc.)
  • New actions available in the “Deliveries” button. These actions enable users to perform functions in bulk to a selection of shipments, thus offering significant productivity gains.
  • Additional activity stream messages - the “Logistics Activity Stream” is the social networking hub of the TMS. By positioning further events in the activity stream, the TMS now provides greater visibility and collaboration opportunities for shippers and carriers.
  • Spot quotes can now be all-in – flat rate plus accessorials, or cost per mile plus accessorials. This greater level of detail enables improved analytics and cost comparisons.

Market Rating System

Currently in pre-release, as part of an early adopter program, the Market Rating System will represent a groundbreaking new module for Cloud Logistics. The new component enables customers to dynamically create their own internal benchmark rates. Rates can be based on historical data, estimated based on carrier contract rates and routing guides, as well as a default standard rate. Market rates help both transportation planners make educated decisions and sales agents provide accurate shipping costs. The Market Rating System will be available this summer.
“Partnering with our customers to develop significant new features such as the Manual Planner and the Market Rating System is the best way to keep pushing the innovation curve,” added Nix. “We’ve only just scratched the surface, and plenty of more exciting features are on their way in 2018.”

Cloud Logistics will be exhibiting at the Gartner Supply Chain Summit May 14-17 in Phoenix, AZ. Stop by booth #715 for a live demonstration of the Cloud Logistics TMS solution.
