MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge Annual Innovation Showcase to Feature 30+ Demos from Early Stage Companies Aspiring to Be the Next Unicorn
Six Startups Representing MITEF Thailand to Participate
CAMBRIDGE, Mass, May 29, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Long hours of imagining, innovating and implementing is the recipe for most successful entrepreneurs. So, too, is getting out into the market to bring attention to their efforts.
On June 12, from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m., the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge’s (MITEF) annual Startup Spotlight will take over District Hall – providing a platform for the region’s most promising technology innovators to demo their products and services to hundreds of prospective investors, partners, customers and mentors.
This year’s program will feature 35+ thought provoking and driven startups targeting industries ranging from advertising and marketing, travel and transportation, medical devices and AI in healthcare to robotics, consumer IoT and many others. Following the demonstrations, winners will be selected in three categories based on audience voting:
- Company I Want to Have a Beer With
- Future Unicorn
- Most Likely to Develop a Cult Following
Underscoring the breadth and depth of innovators that the annual event attracts, startups to earn top honors in prior years include Blink, Ecovent Systems, Harvest Automation, Ministry of Supply, Panther Therapeutics, Pillar Technologies, Ridgewing Guitars, Voatz, and Wasabi.
“This region is among the most creative, committed and successful innovation ecosystems in the world,” said Katja Wald, executive director of MITEF Cambridge. “That’s because we have an enviable mix of entrepreneurs, investors, mentors and educators. Our organization loves to get all those people together to spark ideas and facilitate success. The Startup Showcase is a great mix of business-critical innovation presented in a fun and interactive atmosphere that gets everyone jazzed up on multiple visions of the future.”
