GENEVA, May 30, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- King & Spalding has hired international and domestic tax expert Jonathan Ivinson as a partner based in the Geneva office.
Ivinson advises clients on the planning and implementation of investment and asset holding structures. His client base covers high net worth individuals, trusts and multi-national corporations in a number of sectors, including financial, private equity, entertainment, hospitality and technology. Ivinson has developed a special focus on family offices and family wealth advice.
“Jonathan has extensive experience in providing high-level international advice to clients on their most important tax and investment matters,” said Todd Holleman, head of the firm’s Corporate, Finance and Investments (CFI) practice group. “His knowledge and insight of family office and family wealth—a sector becoming more prominent in transactions and investments around the world—is an important addition that enhances our existing tax capabilities. We are very pleased to have him on board.”
Ivinson was most recently a partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld and is also recognized in Chambers Global and Legal 500 UK. He is the second partner to join the Geneva office this year after the recruitment of senior World Trade Organization litigator Rambod Behboodi in January (more here).
Ivinson’s international tax and family office expertise adds a new dimension to King & Spalding’s Geneva office, and expands the firm’s CFI practice within the EMEA.
“Jonathan will plant the flag for our Corporate, Finance and Investments practice in the firm’s Geneva office, which traditionally focused on international trade,” added Jawad I. Ali, head of the firm’s EMEA CFI team. “Jonathan has worked on significant matters from across the world—including from Switzerland, the Middle East, India, China and Russia—which, when combined with our own international footprint, offers great opportunities for collaborations throughout the firm.”
“King & Spalding’s commitment to developing a leading private wealth practice makes the firm the right place for my clients and practice,” said Ivinson. “I am also impressed by the collaboration and cooperation amongst partners across offices, so it is exciting to be working here.”
