The Dr. Oz Podcast marks the first series in the new Sharecare collection from HowStuffWorks
ATLANTA, May 31, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sharecare, the digital health company helping people manage all their health in one place; nine-time Daytime Emmy® Award winner and professor of surgery at Columbia University, Mehmet Oz, M.D.; and HowStuffWorks, the largest for-profit podcasting company in the world in terms of streams and downloads, today announced a collaboration to bring a new slate of podcasts to the HowStuffWorks network. The collection of podcasts will cover a range of topics while delivering helpful takeaways for improving personal health and wellbeing, complementing the robust digital and broadcast programming already available through both Sharecare and The Dr. Oz Show.
“HowStuffWorks has established a powerful distribution channel with a remarkably engaged and loyal fan base, and we believe there is tremendous opportunity to use the power of podcasting to help people live healthier, happier, more productive lives,” said Elizabeth Shepard, general manager of digital at The Dr. Oz Show and Sharecare. “This partnership further enables us to help people at every phase in their health journey and engage with them anytime, anywhere and via any form factor they choose.”
The first series in the collection – The Dr. Oz Podcast – is now available on Apple Podcasts as well as all major podcast platforms, and features Dr. Oz and his wife, New York Times bestselling author Lisa Oz, while they have frank and unfiltered conversations with some of the greatest minds in health and wellbeing. From Deepak Chopra diving into the ancient wisdom and practical teachings of meditation and yoga to exploring some of the world’s most powerful health discoveries with Dr. Sanjay Gupta, The Dr. Oz Podcast draws extraordinary lessons from experts and delivers them in a way that listeners will find relevant in their everyday lives.
“The combination of Dr. Oz’s brilliant interview skills with our successful track record in the podcast space affords us a unique opportunity to build an incredible slate of shows,” said Conal Byrne, president of HowStuffWorks. “We are excited about bringing Dr. Oz’s knowledge and ability to inspire healthier living to the masses via audio and look forward to working with Sharecare to create more engaging podcast content in the near future.”
Podcast production will be led by HowStuffWorks, which reaches an international audience and averages more than 50 million downloads per month from its existing shows. The Dr. Oz Podcast is currently available via Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen to podcasts. More information about additional podcasts from HowStuffWorks, Dr. Oz and Sharecare will be announced in the coming months.
