SEATTLE and SAN JOSE, Calif., May 31, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Valence Group Inc., a digital transformation solution provider focused on helping enterprise customers worldwide understand and apply next-generation technologies in a smart and innovative way, today announced at Augmented World Expo 2018 the release of their HoloLens IoT Innovation Accelerator. Based on the HoloLens mixed reality platform and integrated with multiple Microsoft Azure cloud services, including Azure IoT Hub and Azure Cognitive Services, the Innovation Accelerator provides a technical framework and reference architecture to build enterprise solutions that bring real-time IoT data to a HoloLens mixed reality experience.
“At Valence we focus exclusively on digital transformation technologies and how they work together to deliver real business results for customers,” said Jim Darrin, Managing Director of Valence. “We believe mixed reality will change the nature of data visualization, so we have assembled a set of software components and reference architectures to accelerate the ability to build integrated and cloud-based HoloLens solutions. The fundamental idea is to free up industrial data normally locked up in proprietary systems and surface it automatically, in real-time, using HoloLens while the user surveys a landscape of enterprise assets like industrial machinery, inventory storage, or other equipment or devices.”
The HoloLens IoT Innovation Accelerator is built using the Mixed Reality Toolkit for Unity, combined with the Microsoft Azure IoT Suite, Azure Cognitive Services and ASP.NET SignalR. These components are assembled so a user can simply survey an industrial environment and view real-time data (for example temperature, pressure, current inventory levels, last known maintenance date, etc.) describing the current state of the visible equipment in a HoloLens dashboard. As a user changes sightlines across a physical landscape, dynamic image recognition enables the HoloLens to detect new objects in real-time, with the key IoT data elements changing automatically to keep up with the field of view.
“We worked hard to think through how to combine next-generation user experiences enabled by the HoloLens with traditional industrial or enterprise data that is often locked up in silos,” said Mr. Darrin. “We are excited to use this accelerator to jump-start projects for forward-thinking customers who want to get the most out of next-generation technologies.”
Additionally, the company today announced a partnership with Taqtile Inc., a leading provider of mixed-reality enterprise software applications. Based in Seattle, Washington, Taqtile has a broad portfolio of products including Manifest (training for complex tasks), HoloMaps (3D holographic maps), and Pedestal (collaborative holographic visualization). With this partnership, the company adds another strong product company to its portfolio of go-to-market solutions, and Taqtile gains a scalable services partner for resale and delivery of its products to enterprise customers.
“I am incredibly excited to bring Valence into the Taqtile ecosystem,” said Dirck Schou, Taqtile Co-founder. “Like all of us at Taqtile, they are passionate and dedicated to the HoloLens platform and we believe we will be ‘better together’ in serving our collective customers. The augmented, mixed, and virtual reality industry is positioned for explosive growth and I’m excited to watch us grow together.”
