SILICON SLOPES, Utah, June 04, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Teem, a developer of cloud-based meeting tools and workplace analytics helping companies to improve workplace experience, today announced the addition of seasoned technology and commercial real estate executive Mandy Edwards as the company’s first independent director to the board.
Edwards brings 30 years of operating experience in management roles across engineering, IT and sales. She was most recently the CIO at CBRE, the world’s largest commercial real estate services and investment firm, where she led the organization in identifying and implementing new technologies to maximize real estate investments. Prior to her position at CBRE, Edwards was chief Infrastructure Officer for Sitel Corporation, a leading global business process outsourcing company, responsible for global information technology, sourcing and real estate. She also served as CIO & Facilities Manager for Wyndham Vacation Ownership, a division of the global hospitality firm, Wyndham Worldwide.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome Mandy to our board,” said Teem CEO, Shaun Ritchie. “She brings a unique perspective that will positively impact Teem in many ways. Given her deep experience at the intersection of technology and real estate, we are looking forward to her contribution at Teem.”
“In our work to help Silicon Slopes create and leverage diverse teams, we have repeatedly seen the benefit that strong women add to a company’s performance in every metric and industry,” said Cydni Tetro, president of Women Tech Council. “Adding an experienced professional like Mandy will be a great asset to Teem in helping them continue their growth and success, and further helps us expand the network of talented women in our technology ecosystem.”
Teem continues to add seasoned industry leaders to their board. In January they added Upal Basu, a partner of Nokia Growth Partners with nearly two decades of technology and telecom experience. Basu and Edwards join Mark Gorenberg, Mark Terbeek, and Dan Caffee on the Teem board.
On June 7, in celebration of Utah’s growth and innovation over the past 10 years, Silicon Valley Bank and (SVB) CEO Greg Becker will host a networking reception at the new SVB Salt Lake City office for founders and C-level executives and will host a CIO panel where Edwards will join Lars Leckie, managing director of Hummer Winblad, James Dotter, chief financial officer at MX.com and Nick Shevelyov, chief security officer of Silicon Valley Bank.
Today Teem is also excited to announce that the company is the newest partner of the Women Tech Council, a national organization based in Utah focusing on the economic impact of women in the technology sector. With this partnership, Teem will play a crucial role in supporting the development of programs that expand the pipeline of opportunities for women in the industry, from high school to the C-suite.
