TORONTO, June 20, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Torontonian Tina Ware understands the importance of confidence and self-esteem. The writer, travel agent and humanitarian had body image issues just like her main character in her recently released book, Somewhere in the Middle (Victorine Publishing). Self-esteem issues are something that women across Canada can relate to. According to a study published in 2015, “one in five Canadian women report being dissatisfied with their appearance.”
Somewhere in the Middle follows the story of Danae, who moves from the suburbs to Toronto where she realizes fitting in as a young adult, and dealing with school, dating and her thick, coiled hair, is tough, but finding self-worth is even tougher.
“I wanted to write a book that every young woman could relate to, regardless of their background, a book that would help boost confidence and self-esteem,” Tina writes. “With the prominence of social media at our fingertips, I felt it was important to highlight the theme of body image. Like the main character in the book, I struggled with self-esteem in young adulthood and it wasn’t until I realized that other people I idolized had the same issue, that I started feeling better about myself.”
Tina, who was born, raised and lives in Toronto, looks to inspire people with her writing and traveling. Her goal is to inspire and motivate people to leave an impact wherever they are. Somewhere in the Middle is now available on her website and online through Amazon, Kobo and Indigo.
