DigitalTown, Inc. announces a series of management appointments as the company begins field operations of its Blockchain-based solution for Smart Cities. The appointments follow hot on the heels of the groundbreaking venture capital investment from Pithia Inc — the first investment in a public company to be funded through a cryptocurrency — announced on May 17, 2018, as well as an S-1 filing with San Diego-based Triton Funds.
British-born Karen Floyd joins as Chief Brand Officer with responsibility for branding, marketing and communications. Fluent in French, Spanish and Russian, Karen is ranked in the top 1% of professional communicators in Europe, as certified by the UK Chartered Institute of Public Relations, bringing with her a wealth of international experience at executive level.
Honduras-born Victor Hernandez, a Digital Marketing expert, joins as Community Development Manager. A recent resident of Austin, Texas, and currently based in DigitalTown’s EMEA operating center, Las Palmas, Victor is spearheading My.Uno, a Digital Identity project to unite and empower the fragmented Digital Nomad community as they work to co-create Smart Communities using DigitalTown’s Blockchain-based web and mobile solutions.
Aleksandra Milaković from Montenegro, an multiple Economics graduate and speaker of Slavic languages, as well as English and French, joins as Manager for the Balkans and will oversee rollout of DigitalTown in the Balkan region and the European Union. Aleksandra, who recently managed a TEDx conference in Montenegro, will also co-manage DigitalTown’s Global Youth Ambassador Program. The inaugural group of 4 Youth Ambassadors started work earlier this month in Central Texas.
