Toronto, June 28, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) is proud to honour Carol Anne Hilton with the 2018 Award of Excellence in Aboriginal Relations.
Carol Anne was named the recipient of the prestigious award for her work in providing a policy and perspective framework to support the growth and development of Indigenous economies in Canada and around the world.

Carol Anne Hilton, MBA, is the CEO and Founder of The Indigenomics Institute, which is dedicated to articulating the Indigenous economic worldview and facilitating positive leadership and relationships to drive the growth and development of Indigenous economies.

Hilton founded The Indigenomics Institute as an Indigenous economy advisory group for government, Indigenous communities and the private sector. The institute’s mandate is to overcome economic barriers and help create the policy framework, partnerships and specific actions needed to move Canada’s Indigenous economy from today’s $32 billion to $100 billion.
The Indigenomics Institute focuses on four core areas to overcome Indigenous economic barriers and address challenges through:
- providing a platform for dialogue leading to Indigenous economic solutions
- developing economic policy, research, analysis and planning
- education and training, and
- partnership development
Indigenomics draws on ancient principles that have supported Indigenous economies for thousands of years and works to implement this wisdom to increase the role and visibility of Indigenous peoples in the new economy.
Carol Anne is the only Indigenous person selected to serve as a member of the Canadian Economic Growth Council. She also currently acts as a senior advisor to Canada’s Federal Finance Minister.
Carol Anne is also the author of Indigenomics – The Global Power Shift, which establishes a narrative to advance Indigenous business and legal power. She also established the Indigenomics Series, which features interviews with high-profile Canadian executives and Aboriginal business leaders to shed light on the growth of Aboriginal economy.
Carol Anne is of Nuu chah nulth descent from the Hesquiaht Nation on Vancouver Island.
