FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., July 10, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The FAIR Foundation (the Foundation), a leading Florida-based consumer advocacy group and champion for creating safer, stronger communities through consumer education, empowerment, mitigation, and reducing uninsured risk, has announced the annual election of its officers.
On June 27, 2018, the Foundation held a meeting of its Board of Directors to elect officers for 2018-2019. The newly elected officers consist of the following:
Chairman- John “Jack” Ellison
Senior Vice President and Treasurer (Retired), AARP
Mr. Ellison joined AARP in 1988 and held the position of Director, Budget & Planning for nine years until his promotion to Treasurer in 1997. He was responsible for AARP’s investment and cash management strategies for the parent 501(c)(4) organization and all of its related taxable and tax-exempt entities.
Vice-Chairman- Peter “Duke” DeLuca
Brigadier General, United States Army (Retired)
Brigadier General (Retired) DeLuca served from platoon level through combatant command in Army, Joint, Multi-national and Interagency environments. He has commanded from Company through Division level, including command of an Engineer Battalion and an Engineer Brigade in combat. He also served as Commandant of the U.S. Army Engineer School.
Treasurer- Sharon Romano Petrelli, CPCU, AIAF, ARC, CCP
Vice President, Co-Founder, Demotech, Inc.
Ms. Romano is a co-founder of Demotech, Inc., a financial analysis firm specializing in evaluating the financial stability of regional and specialty insurers. She has nearly thirty years of progressively responsible property and casualty insurance experience including loss cost filings, product development and pricing, Financial Stability Ratings®, and title insurance product development and pricing. Ms. Romano has been employed in the property and casualty insurance industry since 1981.
Secretary- Ron Sachs
CEO, Sachs Media Group
Mr. Sachs is one of Florida’s and America’s most accomplished media consultants with exceptional experience in the creation and execution of broad-based public education campaigns, branding, social/digital media and high-wire crisis management. His thought leadership and ideas have created projects that generate local, statewide, national and worldwide attention on issues as diverse as financial literacy, hurricane safety, safe driving and non-partisan political dialogue. Mr. Sachs has served two Florida governors as senior communications counsel.
