SPRINGFIELD, Ohio, July 17, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Konecranes aims to focus on safety and productivity as it brings back its Crane Users Conference this fall in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Konecranes is once again demonstrating its role as a global lifting leader with the 2018 edition of its groundbreaking Crane Users Conference. The complimentary event will showcase overhead material handling technologies and strategies to help companies operate safely and productively. With a strong focus on safety technology this year, guests will have the opportunity to learn best practices, share ideas, and discuss key material handling challenges with colleagues and crane industry experts. The event will be held September 18-20 at the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel.
“One of the main goals of this customer-centric event is to showcase the great technology that Konecranes offers in both our products and services,” says organizer Jim Skowron. “We want to put a spotlight on how industries should care for cranes over their entire lifecycle, and some of the things crane users can do to make sure their cranes remain safe and productive through that entire time frame.”
The agenda will include specifics about crane safety technology and other technologies that help boost productivity and lift businesses. The conference will explore new wrinkles like remote monitoring technology, and how to use it to gain insight and optimize operations.
The conference is specifically for anyone involved in industries where cranes are part of their processes, such as: aluminium, automotive, energy from waste, intermodal & rail, manufacturing, mining, nuclear, petrochemical, pulp & paper, and steel.
“Our format will include general session presentations from subject matter experts with a breakout room to demo some of the latest crane technologies available—from a remote operating station to virtual reality crane operator safety training,” says Skowron.
As an added bonus, the Konecranes Training Institute will host a complimentary crane safety management course on Thursday afternoon immediately following the conference. The 4-hour condensed course, a $495 value, will be open to all conference attendees.
“It’s one of the most popular classes we teach and tuition normally is $495, but conference attendees will get this at no charge,” says Skowron. “This crane course gives supervisors, plant managers, facility managers, and safety managers information on OSHA and ASME B30 requirements for overhead crane operation including the reasons behind the requirements. Good management practices are discussed in detail as well as some incident investigations.”
As a special welcome to Pittsburgh, Konecranes is sponsoring a private reception at beautiful PNC Park. Conference participants will be treated like baseball VIPs, during a private reception inside PNC Park’s World Series Suite, prior to the Pittsburgh Pirates taking on the Kansas City Royals. It is an all-star setting for this baseball experience in the shadow of the Roberto Clemente Bridge. Game tickets, food and beverage are courtesy of Konecranes.
