GUATEMALAN MOTHER WHO SUED THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION WILL BE REUNITED WITH HER NINE-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER TODAY

Mother who is suffering from brain cancer and who was ruthlessly separated from her nine-year-old daughter will be reunited with her today, Friday, July 20, 2018, after government agrees to release child. Lawsuit alleging racial discrimination, bias, and the unlawful separation from her child will continue.


Atlanta, July 20, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- WHAT:           
Norma Amabilia Lopez Sales filed suit against the Trump administration, alleging racial bias, discrimination, and the unlawful separation of her child, and sought an order from a Federal Judge to compel the return of her daughter.

 

The government has agreed to release Norma’s child, and the mother and her daughter will be reunited today, Friday, July 20, 2018 at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Norma’s daughter, who is nine years old, will be seeing her mother for the first time in more than two months. Media will be able to document the reunification and hear from Norma and Mike Donovan, the President of Nexus Services, which funded this lawsuit and several like it for dozens of families seeking to reunite with their children.
