EDMONTON, Alberta, Aug. 29, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- When the owners of Happy Tails Barkery and Pet Supplies sent out a request for donations to help pets and their owners affected by the Carr Fire, Champion Petfoods was one of many companies to answer the call. Champion Petfoods manufactures the award-winning ACANA and ORIJEN dog and cat foods.
The Carr Fire, the most destructive fire in Shasta County, has destroyed more than 1,000 homes around the Redding, California area, leaving hundreds of dogs and cats desperately in need of help. Happy Tails Barkery and Pet Supplies is collecting and distributing food, home goods, and supplies for people and for pets.
Champion Petfoods, brought to you by our award-winning DogStar Kitchen in Auburn, Kentucky, is donating enough food for 21,000 meals for pets. ”We are pleased to be able to support our partners at Happy Tails in this important cause,” said Frank Burdzy, Champion Petfoods president and CEO. “At Champion, we are passionate Pet Lovers, so helping other Pet Lovers in need is something a trusted partner does.”
Champion’s shipment of its ACANA brand pet food arrived on Thursday, August 23rd and was distributed to 5 local rescues, including Paws for A Cause Rescue Coalition, Tails of Rescue, Raining Cats & Dogs, Pedro GTP Relief, and Annie’s Pet Rescue.
Happy Tails Barkery and Pet Supplies provides in-depth nutritional education to the public, along with an array of high quality pet foods, baked treats, and other products.
Caitlyn Patterson, Manager and Donation Director stated, “We are immensely grateful to Champion Petfoodsfor providing nutritious meals to our communities’ four-legged family members, who were put out due to the Carr Fire. Our rescues can rest easy knowing that food will be there when they need it.”
