New Integration Will Make Home Security More Accessible Than Ever Before
BOSTON, Sept. 19, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SimpliSafe®, maker of award-winning home security systems, today announced that the all new SimpliSafe now works with the Google Assistant, enabling customers to control their system using their voice. Customers can ask devices powered by the Google Assistant, including the Google Home Mini and Google Home, to arm their SimpliSafe security system in either Home or Away mode and verify the status of their system using a variety of voice commands. On the heels of three major smart integration launches in Q2, this marks SimpliSafe’s fourth integration announcement since unveiling the all new SimpliSafe home security system at CES in January 2018, following integrations with the August Smart Lock, Amazon Alexa, and Apple Watch.
With this integration, SimpliSafe customers are also able to use Google Assistant Routines. So now, with simple commands, your Assistant can perform several tasks at one time, including arming Simplisafe.
“SimpliSafe is on a mission to make every home secure,” said Chad Laurans, founder and CEO of SimpliSafe. “This integration with the Google Assistant gives our customers even more options for easy and intuitive system arming.”
How To Use
Rushing out the door to start the day? Customers can now say "Hey Google, set the security system to Away” and it will arm SimpliSafe in Away mode, activating every sensor.
There are multiple ways to ask the Google Assistant to engage the Simplisafe security system. Users can simply say:
- “Hey Google, turn on the security system” and the Google Assistant will respond intelligently, asking which mode you want to set.
- “Hey Google, arm SimpliSafe to Home”
- “Hey Google, arm SimpliSafe to Away”
- “Hey Google, set the security system to Home”
- “Hey Google, set the security system to Away”
- “Hey Google, is the security system armed?”
- “Hey Google, am I protected?”
When everyone is ready for bed, users can use Google Assistant to arm SimpliSafe in Home mode, which activates window and door protection, closes the SimpliCam privacy shutter, and sets any SimpliSafe-integrated smart locks into lock mode.*
Customers can also type their commands to the Google Assistant on Android and iOS phones.
Compatibility
To connect, customers must enable the SimpliSafe integration in both the Google Assistant and SimpliSafe apps. This integration is only compatible with the all new SimpliSafe and requires an active interactive monitoring plan.
