LIVONIA, Mich., Sept. 25, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- WorkForce Software® and Cook County announced today that they have completed the countywide rollout of the cloud-based WorkForce Time and Attendance solution to modernize timekeeping, increase efficiencies and reduce costs.
Cook County is home to approximately 5.2 million people. With more than 130 municipalities, including the City of Chicago, and more than 800 local governmental units, it represents one of the largest regional governments in the U.S.
Historically, time and attendance processes for nearly three-quarters of the county’s 22,000 employees were tracked manually through paper timesheets. By implementing WorkForce Time and Attendance, the county has modernized their time and attendance processes, increased efficiencies, and empowered employees with easy-to-use self-service tools.
Instead of using paper timesheets to record hours worked, employees use a combination of badge readers and biometric authentication to sign in and out every day. Those metrics are integrated in real-time with the county’s payroll system for precision in payroll calculations. Employees can use self-service tools to review their hours and pay statements electronically. By eliminating printed paystubs alone, the county expects to save $20,000 per year in paper and printing costs.
