TORONTO, Sept. 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In partnership with Tourism Toronto, the Wolfpack will feature on TV Commercials airing on Sky Sports in the UK this weekend. Wolfpack players visited some of the city’s most popular attractions last month to produce the adverts, which are also being shared across a range of digital and social platforms. The content lays the foundation of the newly formed partnership which positions Toronto as a top city break destination for UK travellers.

Wolfpack Captain Josh McCrone and Vice Captain Ashton Sims, along with Sims’ family, kicked things off with a tour of the fantastic Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, where they got a close look at more than 20,000 exotic sea and freshwater specimens from over 450 species.
Shortly afterwards, Andy Ackers, Sam Hopkins and Gary Wheeler took the 116-storey elevator ride up the city’s iconic CN Tower to take on the EdgeWalk, the world’s highest full circle hands-free walk. Under the watchful eye of trained guides, the trio leaned back over Toronto with the bustling city over 1160 ft beneath them.
Once they had caught their breath back, Ackers, Hopkins and Wheeler were joined by McCrone and Sims, as well as Adam Sidlow, for a spot of lunch at the CN Tower’s 360 Restaurant. Offering a magnificent revolving view of the city from a staggering 351 meters above ground, the award-winning restaurant provided the players with a three course lunch and the chance to relax against the most spectacular of backdrops.
The players then moved on to their next attraction – BATL Axe Throwing. Founded in 2006, over one million people have experienced the thrill of axe throwing at BATL’s many locations. Adam Sidlow proved to be the most accurate thrower, beating out Andy Ackers on his way to a tense final showdown with Sam Hopkins. Both players made their feelings known about some contentious refereeing decisions before Sidlow eventually took the crown of Wolfpack axe throwing champion.
The following morning began with the players taking part in a Brunch Tour, led by Culinary Adventure Co, during which they visited Portland Variety, North of Brooklyn, Sud Forno and Delysees. At each venue they were treated to an array of local culinary delights from some of Toronto’s best brunch spots.
The Royal Ontario Museum was the next stop for Hopkins, Wheeler and McCrone as they paid a visit to one of the country’s most-recognizable national landmarks. Home to a world-class collection of 13 million artworks, cultural objects and natural history specimens, the ROM gave the players a chance to quench their thirst for knowledge at Canada’s largest and most comprehensive museum.
Time to blow off some steam and have some fun – and Track and Field Bar on College St West was the perfect place to do so. The players were able to again show their competitive streaks in a game of bocce ball and shuffleboard before heading to dinner.
The last stop on the Wolfpack’s incredible tour of the city was the Rooftop Lounge of the Thompson Hotel, which provided the players with tremendous views of Toronto’s magnificent skyline and the beautiful Lake Ontario. As the sun set across the city, the team were treated to dinner to round off an incredible two days of filming.
A number of other video edits showing the player at each location will be released on Toronto Wolfpack’s Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts this week.
