COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 01, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Executives from Ohio Innovation Fund (OIF), a leading venture capital firm that leverages Silicon Valley experience to help create the next generation of companies and industries in Ohio and throughout the Midwest, will be speaking at two events in October.  OIF managing director Bill Baumel, and partner Jill Raderstorf, will share their expertise with students, entrepreneurs and other members of the Ohio community to help foster a thriving startup culture and shape the next generation of innovation and investment in the state. Jill Raderstorf will present An Introduction to Venture Capital at the Northeast Ohio Student Venture Fund (NEOSVF) Deal Flow Event. NEOSVF is a non-profit, student run organization that funds high-growth potential startups in Northeast Ohio.

Bill Baumel will serve as a guest judge and keynote speaker at the Kent State College of Business Administration’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation's 2018 CEBIdea Pitch Competition, an annual event that creates opportunities for students to receive mentoring and feedback on their business idea, as well as win seed money. OIF is sponsoring the event, at which Bill will present The State of the Innovation Economy, discussing the transformative power of ideas and innovation. A total of $2,500 in cash prizes will be awarded to the top 10 pitches, including $600 to first place.

These speaking engagements come on the heels of several other events in recent weeks.
