K2 Announces Partnership with UiPath to Expand Robotic Process Automation Capabilities

Two industry leaders integrate their platforms to support full lifecycle business automation

Bellevue, WA, Oct. 03, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- K2, the leader in digital process automation, announced today a partnership with UiPath, a leader in robotic process automation (RPA), to integrate their two platforms and enable full lifecycle business automation.

The new native integration between K2 and UiPath provides the flexibility you need to use robots to start or update inflight K2 processes or have K2 call a UiPath robot to fully automate tasks. This full lifecycle approach allows humans and RPA robots to work together seamlessly, ultimately reducing costs and improving accuracy, compliance and agility.

“With the meteoric rise of process automation in the market, our customers are looking for ways to automate repetitive tasks so that their employees can focus on more critical aspects of business,” said K2 CEO, Evan Ellis. “We’re thrilled to partner with a leader in the space to bring our capabilities together and jointly expand business automation.”

The emergence of low-code digital process automation and RPA platforms have enabled a fast-growing number of companies to digitally transform. Forrester found that accelerating digital business transformation now outweighs cost reduction as a primary focus of process improvement, in a survey of over 300 business and technology decision makers.i However, manual processes continue to plague customer experiences.

“Manual processes cripple customer journeys by thwarting a seamless experience. Part of any overall automation effort involves your IT and business teams assiduously identifying and eliminating manual processes. You can automate much of that work with more straightforward deterministic tools like emerging low-code development products that make previously complex development and integration far simpler,” wrote Forrester Research Vice Presidents and Principal Analysts, Rob Koplowitz and Sucharita Kodali, in a recent report. “You'll also want to explore robotic process automation (RPA) to automate tedious human-centric tasks like copying data from one system into another because back-end automation is too costly or complex.”ii

“We’re particularly excited about this partnership because K2 has built a native integration with our REST API and isn’t relying simply on screen-scrape integration of a form. Customers will be able to bring humans into the loop effortlessly through K2, and when the human completes the task at hand, the process can be sent back to UiPath robots to keep things running,” said UiPath VP of Product and Strategic Technology Alliances, David Marcus.

K2 customers today only need their UiPath credentials to integrate the two platforms for both inbound and outbound communication. To learn more and request a free trial, please visit K2.com.
