Johnstown, PA, Oct. 24, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The National Safety Council (NSC) has presented its prestigious Rising Stars of Safety Award to Brandon Hody, Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) Safety and Occupational Health Professional.
The NSC developed the Rising Stars of Safety award to help shine light on up-and-coming safety professionals. Awardees are under the age of 40, demonstrate safety leadership, and are dedicated to continuous improvement in safety. Nominees are recognized at the NSC Congress & Expo and are highlighted in Safety + Health® magazine.
In 2017, Hody won an election to become Assistant Administrator at the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) Public Sector Practice Specialty (PSPS). He also serves as the alternate CTC representative to an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and two International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA) Standard Development Committees. In August 2018, Hody co-authored a peer-reviewed article titled “Medical Marijuana – Addressing Impairment in the Workplace,” in the ASSP’s Professional Safety Journal.
“I am proud of all of Brandon’s professional accomplishments, including this most recent NSC award,” said Edward J. Sheehan, Jr., CTC President and CEO. “Brandon is a valued member of our outstanding team of safety and occupational health professionals who are leading the way, not only in our company, but across the nation in ensuring safe and healthy work environments.”
Elaborating on the NSC awards, Deborah A. P. Hersman, NSC President and CEO, said, “Our award winners recognize that safety is a journey rather than a destination. These individuals and organizations constantly ask, ‘What more can we do?’ We are proud to honor the winners and to recognize all the outstanding nominees that share the Council’s goal of eliminating preventable deaths and injuries in our lifetime.”
