BOSTON, Nov. 26, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LearnLaunch, the non-profit education innovation hub, announced today the appointment of three new members of its board of directors: Brian Fleming, Executive Director of the Sandbox ColLABorative at Southern New Hampshire University; Dr. James Tracy, the first president of the Woodrow Wilson Academy of Teaching and Learning; and Mark Miller, Managing Partner of Good Harbor Partners.
The mission-focused non-profit seeking to drive innovation to transform learning is now six years old and is expanding its board. LearnLaunch is located in Boston, a vibrant ed innovation center with universities, schools, and many of the world’s leading education companies. The edtech sector alone employs more than 25,000 professionals in the Boston area.

The new members join Andrew Joseph, CEO of School by Design; Michael Horn, author of Disrupting Class and Blended, and Distinguished Fellow at the Clayton Christensen Institute; Vijay Kumar, Executive Director, Abdul Latif Jameel World Education Lab and Associate Dean of Digital Learning at MIT; and Eileen Rudden, former Chief Officer of College and Career Preparation for Chicago Public Schools and LearnLaunch co-founder.
Brian Fleming is Executive Director of the Sandbox ColLABorative at Southern New Hampshire University. Fleming oversees the direction and research agenda of Sandbox, which includes strategic initiatives for the university as a whole and coverage of education technology and market trends. Fleming was a Principal Consultant at Tyton Partners, a strategy consulting firm focused on education and human capital management markets, and a Senior Analyst at Eduventures, a Boston-based research firm supporting the higher education community
Mark Miller, Managing Partner of Good Harbor Partners (GHP), is a leading M&A advisor and successful former education entrepreneur. GHP provides strategy consulting, outsourced corporate development, and M&A advisory services. Miller is also a co-founder of LearnLaunch, and a member of Cornell University Entrepreneurship Advisory Board and Quill & Dagger Honorary Society.
Dr. James Tracy is the first president of the Woodrow Wilson Academy of Teaching and Learning, an independent, mastery-based, graduate school of education that was incubated by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation in collaboration with MIT. Tracy served as Head of School at the Rocky Hill School, CATs Academy, Cushing Academy, and BU Academy. Currently co-chair of the Mass Robotics Work of the Future Committee, Dr. Tracy has an MA and PhD in History from Stanford University, and earned an MBA with a Certificate in Public and Nonprofit Management and an Ed.M. in Higher Education Policy, Planning, and Administration from Boston University. He was also a Columbia University Klingenstein Fellow.
