WOODBURY, N.Y., Jan. 22, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Impact Investment Firm, Vanderbilt Financial Group (VFG), is thrilled to announce the promotion of Megan Plapp to the position of Chief Financial Officer. Megan has been a valued member of the Vanderbilt team since 2017, bringing meticulous oversight to the firm’s finances while ensuring the highest level of customer service to financial advisors.
"Megan has earned this recognition as part of our executive team for her vision, leadership, and industry knowledge. Our company culture celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit which Megan exhibits daily through her invaluable ideas," stated Stephen Distante, Chief Entrepreneurial Officer of Vanderbilt Financial Group.
Megan brings over 18 years’ experience working with or leading financial management and accounting teams. Her passion for Vanderbilt permeates throughout the organization – through the culture she inspires and in the team she leads. As the registered FINOP for the firm, Megan handles all aspects of finance, and heads up the commission department. Megan attended SUNY Oneonta, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a dual minor in Finance and Business Communications. Prior to joining Vanderbilt, Megan worked in the Finance and Accounting departments at Peyser & Alexander Management, Gersh Management Services, and West Hills Day Camp, and was a small business owner for seven years in Patchogue, NY.
“While Megan is extremely diligent with numbers, her real superpower lies in bringing those numbers to life through her past experience and fun personality. We value when employees bring their authentic selves to work – we’re more than a business, we’re a family,” stated Heidi Distante, Chief of Staff at Vanderbilt Financial Group.
Vanderbilt is proud of its diverse leadership team – 50% of the executive team are women with an array of differing backgrounds – and values the wider spectrum of perspectives this brings to the firm’s overall strategy.
