FARGO, N.D., Feb. 08, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On January 14, 2019, the Iowa Department of Human Services announced its intent to enter into contract negotiations with Noridian Healthcare Solutions (Noridian) for the Iowa Medicaid Enterprise (IME) Core Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) contract. This is the result of a full-and-open procurement of the contract.
Noridian has been the Core MMIS contractor for the IME since 2004. The Core MMIS contractor maintains the system that processes Medicaid claims, supports providers who submit electronic Medicaid claims, and manages the IME mailroom. The contract serves over 56,000 active Medicaid providers and 694,000 participating Medicaid recipients.
Noridian is well-known in the healthcare industry. Noridian holds four Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) contracts for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services: the Jurisdiction F and Jurisdiction E Medicare Part A/Part B contracts, and the Jurisdiction A and Jurisdiction D Durable Medical Equipment (DME) contracts. Noridian is also the Supplemental Medical Review Contractor (SMRC), conducting medical review of claims for providers in all U.S. states and territories, as directed by CMS.
