Husch Blackwell Expands Energy Practice in Houston

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Feb. 20, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Husch Blackwell is pleased to announce the addition of Timothy Million and Randall Rios to its Energy & Natural Resources industry group. Both attorneys join Husch Blackwell’s Houston office as senior counsel and bolster the firm’s ability to counsel clients involved in energy industry-related workouts, restructurings and bankruptcies.

Tim Million brings experience with both debtor- and creditor-side bankruptcy representations, as well as providing counsel to trustees. His work with energy industry clients spans both privately-held and public companies and includes representations for debtors, secured creditors, acquirers of distressed assets, and creditors involved in a variety of bankruptcy litigation. He is a founding member and past president of the Houston Association of Young Bankruptcy Lawyers, and he continues to hold leadership positions in various professional organizations. He currently serves as the Treasurer of the Bankruptcy Law Section of the State Bar of Texas and served previously as the editor of the Section’s newsletter as part of his role as the Section’s vice president of communications and publications.

For over 30 years Randall Rios has counseled on a nationwide basis a variety of clients involved in bankruptcy matters, including debtors and creditors, creditors’ committees, landlords, purchasers of distressed assets, and trustees in numerous reorganization and liquidation bankruptcy cases. He also has significant experience handling bankruptcy litigation and bankruptcy-related commercial litigation, including director, officer and insider liability matters. Rios possesses notable energy industry experience and has worked on industry Chapter 11 cases for oil and gas companies with operations in the U.S. and abroad. He has been named by Texas Monthly/Super Lawyers as a “Texas Super Lawyer” since 2005 and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the area of Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law.

The arrival of Million and Rios continues Husch Blackwell’s momentum in the Texas marketplace. Previously this year, the firm welcomed a trio of Houston-based lawyers—former Harris County Judge Robert Eckels, former Houston City Attorney Arturo Michel, and Sandy Hellums-Gomez—and last spring Husch Blackwell landed 14 attorneys in its Texas offices who joined the firm from Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP.
