Company Begins Expanding Partner Network
SOMERSET, N.J., Feb. 21, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MTBC (NASDAQ:MTBC) (NASDAQ: MTBCP), a leading provider of cloud-based healthcare IT solutions and services, today announced the first completed implementation of its Blockchain Electronic Health Records (EHR) Network platform at the 2019 HIMSS Global Conference & Exhibition last week, demonstrating its ability share data between MTBC’s talkEHR™ and other ambulatory EHR systems.
“For years patients have clamored for the ability to securely access all their health records from providers using different EHRs and for the ability to allow a physician providing one aspect of their medical care easily see the records from other physicians,” said A. Hadi Chaudhry, MTBC’s president. “The government has tried to incent interoperability for years via a series of ‘Meaningful Use’ incentives, and there have been several attempts at interoperability by the industry, but today this is still too difficult for most patients and healthcare providers to achieve.”
MTBC demonstrated the successful implementation of its new permission-based blockchain network, referred to as C.H.A.I.N. (Collaborative Health Analytics & Interoperability Network), exchanging patient records in two directions with another vendor’s EHR. This was demonstrated live at the HIMSS 19 conference in Orlando Florida, attended by 45,000 professionals in the healthcare business. The core approach utilizes a permission-based blockchain network with secure links to health records in multiple systems, with no personal health information stored in the blockchain. The demonstration featured the latest version of MTBC’s talkEHR, which is ONC-ACB Healthcare IT certified to support the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) Medicare Incentive Payment System (MIPS) reporting requirement, and features intelligent voice control, a virtual assistant powered by artificial intelligence, and built-in video telehealth encounters stored in patient records.
“Several industry-leading analysts applauded MTBC’s architecture, and noted the benefits in terms of security, interoperability, and manageability,” said Al Nardi, MTBC’s VP of Strategic Initiatives. “The audience was enthusiastic about MTBC’s approach, in which patients can choose which providers should have access to their health records. With the first successful implementation completed, MTBC is ready to select partners for the next phase of its trial. Ambulatory EHR vendors that want to offer a secure interoperability solution with complete patient control can now join C.H.A.I.N. at no charge and should contact me at anardi@mtbc.com to learn more.”
